Version 1

The very first page we made. Also known as the black and blue site. But this was the building block, as all the below are, for the current site.

Version 2

This was quite an improvement, but could have done will better colours and more pictures.

Version 3

Version three is only an improvement to the last. This is when we started adding pictures of the group.

Version 4

This was quite a bad template, particularly the loading bar and buttons! But the ideas were good. But we still had the web address - www.swccchurch.co.uk

Version 5

In this Version we completely revamped the whole site and called it Youth On the Net, sadly it didn't take off.

Version 6

After the failing of Version 5 we decided to go back to the original idea but change it slightly. We want this version to look good.

Version 7

This is the latest version, the site that you are looking at now. I hope you agree that this is the best version yet, with many additions such as a podcast. Although there may still be room for improvement, if you have any ideas we would love to hear them.

About the Course

The Way of the Spirit is a guide through the whole bible. The call and the cross is the first part in the course. The course is designed to be completed with the use of the textbook, CD’s and workbook.

The aim of the course, simply, is to help you better understand the way of God’s Spirit in the bible. John McKay’s prayer is “that through reading and praying you will enter into the fullness of life that men of Bible-times experienced and that God can still offer today”. Before you start this course, please have a read of the “Method of Study” section at the beginning of the workbook.

About John McKay

John McKay is the author and Pioneer of The Way of the Spirit.

“As a child, John McKay loved the Bible, but its central theme eluded him. In his search for understanding of God’s Word, he studied at Aberdeen, Oxford and Cambridge before taking up a post in the Department of Theology at Hull University in 1969.

It was there that he was baptised in the Holy Spirit, and this radically changed his understanding of the Scriptures. Having made it his life’s ambition to solve what he called “the riddle of the Bible”, he now found that for the first time, the Scriptures all made sense to him.

After leaving Hull, he served for two years as Rector of St Ninian’s Episcopal Church, Prestwick, before taking up the post of Director of Studies at Kingdom Faith’s newly opened Bible College at Roffey Place in Horsham, West Sussex, where he wrote and developed The Way of the Spirit Bible Reading Course and the related teaching courses and programmes.

For the last six years of his life, the main thrust of his work was to train Bible teachers who would carry on the work that he had started, and to date over three hundred people have been trained and sent out, some into very fruitful ministries. This training programme continues today, carried on by some of those whom he had trained.
